Excellent Metroidvania

At first, I was unimpressed as it looked like a "modernised" version of the original. There are elements here that go back to it roots but it actually feels more like playing Ori. In fact its hard not to compare the two as this is clearly Ubi's attempt at Ori- and its a good one. It lacks the charm and story of Ori and the controls (especially parry) sometimes feels unresponsive (remap from the trigger, trust me) but the exploration, traversal and combat are all top tier. Bosses are pretty well done, requiring you to understand their attacks, learn complex evade strategies and find openings to attack. I've come across a few bugs, like getting stuck in a falling animation and an invincibly glitch but nothing game breaking. Apart from that it rund fast, fluid and looks solid. Welcome back, Ubisoft...?

I am thoroughly at odds with the apparent endless streams of praise for this desperately boring but mechanically competent Metroidvania. As a genre I adore search/action games, but this is (for me at least) dull, frustrating & aimless.

Possibly the best Metroidvania of all time

Ori is prettier, Hollow Knight is harder, Blasphemous is bloodier, and Castlevania is, well, older, but as a whole, The Lost Crown is arguably the best Metroidvania available today. Simply put, the platforming and controls are sublime, the combat timings are perfect and exploration is fun. The very clever game mechanics add extra depth and a wealth of possibilities to all areas of gameplay. XSX runs at a flawless 120fps. The lack of HDR does hurt it, but it's absence isn't worth deducting a star. ANY Metroidvania fan should play this game.

Good platforming, bad bosses

Bosses (and most mobs) are more damage sponge than skill check, and the thin combat makes some of them feel like a chore. Otherwise it's pretty great. Feels like the originals finally got a modern update.

Great fun

Easily the most enjoyment from a ubisoft game in some time. The game looks great and plays great too. Its challenging ( understatement ) but its meant to be. as frustrating as some of the platform puzzles can be they are all doable with practise and patience.

Its like if god of war ascension was made by fortnite lovers, weak sauce. Hate the washed out, bubbly cartoon look. 10 year olds will love this *********, maybe thats the play here

A Great Ubisoft Game

Im glad this is 2D, we want to keep it alive. Got everything a 2D should be, excellent level design, combat is brillant, enemies are perfect. Also have some great challenging platforming. Ubisoft finally getting back on track making great games. I highly recommend it.

It's a damn platformer

I thought this was going to how prince of Persia used to be in warriors within, its not. It's a 2D platformer and that's killed it for me immediately.

About 8/10 hours in maybr and I can say hands down without a doubt, that this is one of Ubisofts best games in a long time. The level design is incredible, the bosses are amazing, the enemy diversity is great, the platforming is fantastic and the puzzles are lovely. Yes the game is challenging, it's meant to be, tgats probably where a majority of any negative reviews you'll see stem from. But if the challenge puts you off, don't worry because the game gives the player lots of fredom in the customisation of their dificulty. If you want an easier, more beginer friendly and welcoming game then you can have it, but equally if you want a perfection challenge level yoi can. Or if you're like me you can enjoy a challengingbut not impossible level of dificulty. My only complaints would so far be the story, it's by no means bad but if you're looking for a story game, you're looking in the wrong genre. The story works for what it needs to be, it's definitely not bad. The gameplay is what matters

Very 360 xbox style game. It seems it hasn't advanced much. It is playable, graphics are ok. But over all it is lacking. Doubt I'll play ot again after first cpmplention.
